Cedar City Utah, National Parks Area Attractions

Being the most centrally located hotel in the city does have its advantages.  Stratford Court is adjacent to the Tony Award winning Utah Shakespearean Festival, across the street from the new Cedar City Heritage Center, and at the mouth of Highway 14 leading to Cedar Breaks, Bryce Canyon, Zion and the Grand Canyon National parks.

Utah Shakespearean Festival - Cedar City is the home of the Tony Award Winning Utah Shakespearean Festival, which celebrated it's 40th anniversary in 2001.  Visit their web site for plays and ticket information.

Brian Head Ski Resort is less than a half hour's drive from Cedar City.  Experience the greatest skiing in Utah during the winter or take advantage of numerous bike trails during the summer.

Iron Mission State Park
The Iron Mission museum tells the story of development in Iron County when, in the 1850s, Brigham Young sent Mormon missionaries there to mine iron. Museum displays include horse-drawn vehicles used from 1850 to 1920 and a collection of Indian and pioneer artifacts.

The Providence Center
The Providence Center is southern Utah's latest retail location.  Restaurants include Applebee's, Wingers, Mexican Restaurants, and an Ice Cream Shoppe.  Also featured at the Providence Center is a Super Wal Mart and Deseret Bookstore.  The Providence Center is also home to Gold's Gym.

Cedar City's Heritage Center
The Heritage Center is the newest performing arts venue in Cedar City and Southern Utah, and is the official home to  Cedar City Music Arts, Cedar City Theater Co., Utah Neil Simon Festival, Master Singers, and the Orchestra of Southern Utah

Cedar City's Discovery Park
Located near the Providence Center, the Discovery Park is a fun place for kids to go and unwind.  Many activities are featured in this community-built play place.

Canyon Country Western Arts Festival
Held every year in Cedar City, this festival is a four-day exhibit of art from all over the West, including sculpture, paintings, leather work, Western music, and Cowboy Poetry. The festival is fun for the whole family, with activities for the kids and workshops for the parents.

Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery
At the campus of Southern Utah University see changing art exhibits. A permanent collection is also available for viewing.
